The Defence Force is headed by the governing body known as the National Security Council, which comprises the Prime Minister (Chairman), the Minister of National Security, Commander Defence Force, Commissioner of Police, and the Secretary to the Cabinet. The National Security Council assumes the administrative responsibilities of the force, while Commander Defence Force responsibilities involve the operative capabilities.
